This article will explain how to install World of Warcraft on OpenSUSE machine. Tested on: 13.2
Steps:
- Install PlayOnLinux
- Install World of Warcraft
- Update Video packages if needed
- Have fun
Install PlayOnLinux
![How How](/uploads/1/2/3/7/123750723/558608555.jpg)
- Download PlayOnLinux All Distributions tar.gz
- Move zip file from Download to directory you will going to run it from. And unzip it.
- In YAST install: python-wxWidgets, cabextract, icoutils, wine.
- In YAST install if you running 64bit OS: Mesa-libGL1-32bit.
- From http://software.opensuse.org/132/en install libtxc_dxnt(it needed to display players models). Note that some time 'Package Search' do not find it if you put full name, you can try to use part of the name. It should be there. Long story short, it has different license level then OpenSUSE and can not be included in it officially and it is under unstable packages. We hope Mesa will have it in future.
- Open terminal navigate to PlayOnLinux folder and execute: sh playonlinux.run
- If no popup message come up your are good and can continue, else you need to write down messages and do some searching.
Install World of Warcraft
- Login to your Blizzard account and download battle.net app.
- In PlayOnLinux click on start new installation.
- Select games then look for World Of Warcraft.
- Leave everything as default when ask navigate to battle.net app.
- Log in to app. Select World of Warcraft, select right version and click install.
- When it finish close app, click that installation is finished.
- You will see World of Warcraft icon, but let add battle.net app to by clicking add exe.
- Run if all look like expected you are good, if you having problem with textures then next paragrap is waiting for you.
Update Video Packages
- Update the current Mesa drives to latest version in YAST.
- Install drivers from official video card webpage. (This would try if nothing else works. Those packages can break your OS)

Attention BlizzCon 2018 virtual ticket holders — if you missed the announcement yesterday evening, we’re here to tell you World of Warcraft Classic demo test is now available for download!
Hi everyone! We’re incredibly excited for you all to get your hands on the WoW Classic BlizzCon demo next week, and to help make things as smooth as possible, we’re making the client available to download for Virtual Ticket holders starting today.Over the next 24 hours, we’ll be enabling the ability to download the WoW Classic demo through the Battle.net app for players who have purchased the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, as well as standard BlizzCon ticket holders who have added their Virtual Ticket Goodies code to their Battle.net account. If you don’t see the option to install the demo right away, don’t worry – you’ll still have plenty of time to download the client before the demo goes live during BlizzCon next week.
We can’t wait for you to get a peek at what we’ve been working on, and hope you enjoy this preview of what’s to come!
The WoW community has been grumbling about the lack of amenities with a virtual ticket. There’s no pet, or mount, or a toy like there has been in years past. We get faction cloaks and that’s about it. Um…okay. If you play other Blizzard properties the other items offered do look intriguing. I’m going to have to log into Heroes of the Storm to see all things shark, for sure.
If you’ve already purchased the virtual ticket, the demo will be on your Battle.net screen. You should be able to start the download now — or very soon. Caro emerald deleted scenes from the cutting room floor rapidshare. There is still time — if you are so inclined — to get in on the Classic demo. Just buy the virtual ticket and go to your account on Battle.net to make sure the demo is attached.

While we do know there will be some restrictions on how much you can play the Classic demo in one sitting, there is still no word on how long you’ll be able to play in one session or how long you’ll have to wait after a session before you can log in again. It’s likely this will all be determined by server load and the popularity of the demo itself. Still, it’s smart to prepare yourself for a lengthy wait. Ah, the return of, “you are number 745 in the login queue.”
